About Me
I was born and raised in Edmonton, now living in St. Albert with my wife and daughter, Capri. I attended MacEwan University playing collegiate volleyball for three years before transferring to the University of Alberta. I eventually graduated from U of A with a Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology. During my training, I finished a residency program at a rehabilitation health centre, focusing my treatment on individuals with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Chronic pain, and Brain injury. I have also worked at non-profit clinics and clinical in-patient settings.

My Therapeutic Approach
I practice relational Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), where the heart of transformation lies in the strength of our therapeutic connection. Rooted in the nurturing principles of humanistic psychotherapy, I firmly believe that within each client resides the power to navigate life's challenges. Many seek therapy not because they lack the potential for change, but rather when uncertainty or a lack of awareness makes the path forward unclear.
As your psychologist, my mission is to empower you, offering guidance to illuminate the areas that may be hindering your progress and supporting you in crafting effective solutions. Embracing a biopsychosocial perspective, I recognize that mental well-being is intricately woven into the tapestry of biological, psychological, and social factors. By approaching your struggles from a humanistic standpoint, I aim to foster a sense of autonomy within the healing process, creating a safe space for psychological and social transformation.
I acknowledge the indispensable role of the therapeutic relationship, considering it a crucial cornerstone for change. However, I also recognize that this alone may not always suffice. Therefore, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice, providing a concise framework for understanding mental health challenges and offering actionable strategies aligned with your unique journey. I embrace the versatility of CBT. It's not about adhering to a fixed set of techniques but rather about applying a cognitive formulation to guide our therapeutic exploration. Whether it's cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, psychodrama, two-chair work, or acceptance-based strategies—each intervention stems from a tailored understanding of your needs.
I approach my practice as a continuous journey of learning and growth, ready to draw from various therapeutic approaches to enhance the quality of our work together. Your well-being is at the forefront of my commitment, where your unique narrative is not just heard but actively integrated into the collaborative process of change.
